Chiropractic Care in Amarillo, TX

West Texas Wellness Center

You have started planning around it. Which chair you sit in. How you get out of bed. Whether the drive is worth it.

Back and neck pain change your decisions long before they change your life, and most people wait far longer than they should to have it looked at.

Chiropractic care at West Texas Wellness Center treats the cause of the pain rather than covering it. When a joint in the spine is not moving the way it should, the muscles around it tighten, the nerves running through it get irritated, and the pain shows up somewhere else entirely — down a leg, into a shoulder, behind the eyes. Restoring that motion is what relieves the pressure. Care is doctor-supervised, non-surgical and drug-free, here in Amarillo at 4714 S. Western St.

What We Treat

If your pain is on this list, chiropractic care is worth a conversation.
Lower Back Pain
The most common reason patients come to us. Whether it started with one wrong lift or built quietly over years at a desk or behind a wheel, we examine what is actually moving badly before treating anything.
Neck Pain and Stiffness
Hours spent looking down at a phone or a screen loads the neck in a way it was not built for. Restricted neck joints refer pain into the shoulders, the upper back and the base of the skull.
Sciatica and Leg Pain
Pain that travels from the low back into the hip, down the back of the thigh and sometimes into the foot. It is a nerve being compressed, not a muscle being sore, and it responds to care that takes pressure off the nerve.
Headaches and Migraines
A large share of recurring headaches begin in the neck. When the upper cervical joints are restricted, the pain refers into the head, and treating the neck is what interrupts the pattern.
Herniated and Bulging Discs
A disc pressing on a nerve root produces pain, numbness, tingling or weakness along the path of that nerve. Non-surgical care aims to reduce the compression and the inflammation around it.
Auto Accident and Whiplash Injury
Whiplash symptoms often appear a day or two after the collision, not at the scene. Getting examined early matters, both for your recovery and for the documentation.
Work and Sports Injuiry
Repetitive strain, lifting injuries, and the joint and muscle problems that come with training. Care is aimed at getting you back to the activity, not just out of pain.
Joint Pain — Shoulders, Hips, Knees
The spine is not the only joint we treat. Where a shoulder, hip or knee is the source of the problem, it is examined and treated directly, and regenerative options are available in the same building if the joint needs more than manual care.

Our Approach

We do not adjust anyone before we understand what is wrong

✓

Consultation and history

What hurts, how long it has hurt, what makes it worse, what you have already tried, and what you need to be able to do again. This part is a conversation, and it is where most of the useful information comes from.

✓

Examination

We assess how your spine and joints move, where motion is restricted, how the surrounding muscles are responding, and whether nerve involvement is present. [CONFIRM whether on-site X-ray or imaging is used, and whether imaging is ordered when findings call for it.]

✓

Your findings, explained

You are shown what the examination found, in plain language, along with a recommended plan and what it costs, before you commit to anything.

✓

Treatment

Chiropractic adjustment to restore motion to restricted joints, supported by [CONFIRM which supporting therapies the clinic uses — for example therapeutic massage or soft-tissue work, spinal decompression, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, cold laser, therapeutic exercise]. Each of these should be named on this page, because patients search for them individually.

✓

Home care and progress checks

Specific movements and habits to follow between visits, and re-examination as you go, so progress is measured rather than assumed. Your plan is adjusted based on what changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Most patients feel relief rather than pain. You may hear a pop, which is simply gas releasing from the joint, and some patients feel mild soreness afterward the way you would after exercise. Tell the doctor if anything is uncomfortable and the technique is adjusted.

How many visits will I need?

Every case is different. It depends on what the examination finds, how long the problem has been present and how your body responds. The doctor builds your plan at the consultation and will walk you through what to expect for your specific case.

How soon will I feel better?

Some patients notice a change after the first visit and others take longer, particularly when the problem has been building for years. Progress is re-checked as you go, so you are not guessing.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. You can schedule directly by calling (806) 352-1500.

Do you take insurance?

West Texas Wellness Center does not accept insurance at this time. A small number of treatments may be covered depending on your plan, and the doctor will review your options with you at your consultation.

Do you treat patients after a car accident?

Yes. Whiplash and soft-tissue injuries frequently do not show symptoms until a day or two after the collision, so it is worth being examined early. [CONFIRM whether the clinic provides documentation for personal injury claims or attorney requests.]

Do you see children?

[CONFIRM — answer plainly either way. “We treat patients age X and older” is a useful answer and parents search for it.]

Can you treat me while I am pregnant?

[CONFIRM — prenatal chiropractic is a high-intent search term. If the clinic offers it, say so; if not, say that plainly.]

Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is widely used and non-surgical. Every patient is examined before any treatment, and if the findings point to something outside the scope of chiropractic care, you will be told and referred appropriately.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable clothing you can move in. Nothing else is required for your first visit.

Do you take walk-ins?

[CONFIRM — walk-ins accepted, or appointment required.]

What are your hours?

Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM. We are closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Where are you located?
